- ➤ The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Kentucky Chapter will host its 23rd Annual Spring Fling on May 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hardin Post 113 on Ring Road in Elizabethtown to raise funds for local veterans—featuring over 25 vendors, a KSP-escorted motorcycle ride, a custom bike show, food trucks and more. - ➤ The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office warned residents that several area people reported scam texts claiming to be from Chase Bank and saying there is a pending payment or account problem—texts designed to steal personal and banking information, so they advised not to click any links. - ➤ UofL Health broke ground on its new Brown Cancer Center in Shepherdsville near I-65 to bring vital cancer care closer to rural communities. The $25 million facility will open in late 2026 and include 16 dual-purpose rooms—exams and infusions, research labs, clinical trial rooms, and on-site labs—to ease long commutes for patients like Elizabethtown resident Shirley Hatfield.
