COMMUNITY NEWS

  • CASA of the Heartland will host its Light the Night 5K Superhero Run/Walk in Elizabethtown at Sports Park on Friday, May 8 at 8:42 p.m. Food trucks, vendors, and glow items will be available to support vulnerable children, with similar runs planned for June and August in neighboring counties.  Quicksie 98.3

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local flower shops are preparing for Mother's Day by stocking special arrangements and gift options in the community — shoppers will enjoy unique choices as the holiday nears.  The News-Enterprise

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In February, the Lincoln Trail District saw unemployment rates increase from January but drop compared to February 2025 (the state average was 4.8 percent). Hardin County reported a rate of 5.3 percent, while Washington County posted the lowest at 4 percent.  Quicksie 98.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Shane Hall won the 2026 Doug Thompson Memorial Scholarship and $500 at Senior Award’s Night on Sunday by the Grayson County High School Football Alumni Association and will attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. He earned recognition for his football leadership and academic success (3.67 GPA) as a three-year letterman.  K105

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Beshear announced $12.98 million in state funding for 11 projects in Hardin County, including $2 million to upgrade the Gil Nicely Sr. Industrial Park in Elizabethtown on his Team Kentucky Update Thursday; Ford plans to invest $2 billion at its Glendale facility to create 5,000 jobs under new terms.  Quicksie 98.3
