- ➤ Tickets are still available for the ninth-annual E-Town Wine Fest at Freeman Lake Park from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 10—advance tickets cost $30 and door tickets cost $35, which include ten tasting tickets and a commemorative wine glass while non-tasting tickets are $10. The festival will feature Kentucky wineries, Bourbon’s Backyard, a vendor village with food and craft breweries, and two bands, and it is for people 21 and older with valid ID required. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ Mike, a 4 1/2-year-old yellow Labrado Retriever weighing 82 pounds, and Atticus, a 6-year-old German Shepherd weighing 90 pounds are looking for forever homes at Hardin County Animal Shelter (220 Peterson Drive in E-town, open Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.); the shelter will participate in the LouAdopts event at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center on May 10th from 12 to 4 p.m. Quicksie 98.3
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear requested additional FEMA support on Tuesday by asking for approval of 16 counties for individual assistance to help families impacted by April floods and storms+ he also sought public assistance for 64 counties so that residents and business owners can begin applying online, by phone, or at Disaster Recovery Centers. - ➤ County magistrates finished analyzing the county budget Tuesday and focused on reserve money — its amount and source — which sparked heated discussions. The News-Enterprise
