The Elizabethtown Planning Commission voted to recommend that City Council not approve the zoning amendment for 707 Saint John Road after property owners requested changes for a 114-room hotel, commercial building and corporate housing unit amid concerns about public notice, neighborhood fit and site safety—commission members said there were too many issues with the proposal. They also voted to recommend zoning changes for Venue at Highland and a site on East Memorial Drive to allow for a barn conversion and an administrative office.

During the Hardin County Fiscal Court meeting on Tuesday, Judge/Executive Keith Taul presented his proposed 2025-2026 budget totaling $60,780,515 and noted challenges from inflation, a 1.8% rise in personnel costs, and higher department subsidies compared to tax revenues+ he mentioned that the balanced net operating budget of $23,646,154 is under review with a first ordinance reading set for May 13.

The Hardin County Fiscal Court met on Tuesday and approved an interlocal EMS agreement that will have Bullitt County Emergency Medical Services respond to West Point.

Mayor Richard Ciresi said the deal will lower ambulance response times from 20—25 minutes to 5—7 minutes before the court reconvenes on May 13.
