- ➤ North Hardin High School went on lockdown on Monday at about 2:30 p.m. when authorities discovered a 16-year-old carrying a loaded 9mm handgun in his backpack+Radcliff police immediately arrested him+the lockdown lifted at about 2:50 p.m. K105
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A new outdoor event venue costing $40 million is under construction in Elizabethtown and will have 10,000 seats for concerts and community events. The city is using tourism tax dollars to boost local revenue—its first event is planned for fall. WLKY

- ➤ HUD has warned that if Congress does not renew funding soon, hundreds of Kentuckians with emergency housing vouchers—422 statewide and 132 in Louisville—are at risk of losing their homes by next summer. Andy Beshear has urged Kentuckians to join the sixth-annual 'Cover the Cruiser' campaign this week to support local Special Olympics athletes as troopers and athletes will be at various sites across the state. KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown will be at FiveStar Food Mart at 501 Ring Road on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. — a one-dollar donation earns a custom sticker — and all funds benefit Special Olympics Kentucky. - ➤ The Elizabethtown City Council met Monday and approved two ordinances—one changing the zoning at 475 Hodgenville Road to high-density residential for an apartment complex and the other updating sewer rules by raising grease trap fines—while also awarding several municipal contracts, including a roofing bid for the Historic State Theater, a roadway bid for Commerce Drive, and a grant for Leitchfield Road sewer upgrades; council members also noted that EPD Officer Larry Robinson was named School Resource Officer of the Year, and the council will meet again on April 28.
