COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Kentucky State Police have launched the Cover the Cruiser campaign to support Special Olympics Kentucky until April 25 by inviting people to donate at least $1 for a custom icon to place on cruisers. A post at FiveStar, 501 Ring Road in Elizabethtown, will hold an event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 25 — offering another way for the community to help.  Quicksie 98.3

CRIME NEWS

  • A 60-year-old man allegedly drove while drunk, hit a KYTC truck in a work zone on the Western Parkway between Leitchfield and Caneyville Tuesday afternoon and fled before state police arrested him in Hardin County on charges of DUI, open alcoholic beverage container possession, leaving the scene without rendering aid, and failing to yield in a road work zone.  K105

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Nolin River Wildlife raised just over $60,000 during its third annual Born to be Wild Gala this past weekend, said board member Jerry Mraz. All the funds go directly toward operations such as covering veterinary bills for injured animals — a main part of the group’s work.  Quicksie 98.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents are invited to review and comment on workforce plans in the Lincoln Trail district. Public review of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) local plan runs through April 24 and comments on the regional plan (a joint effort with the Northern Kentucky and Bluegrass boards) will be accepted through April 22.  Quicksie 98.3
