- ➤ Steven Lawson's lawyers told Judge Charles Simms III in court on Monday that testing hairs found in the victim's car is needed for due process, while Special Prosecutor Shane Young said the test only delays Lawson's trial — the judge asked both sides to submit extra evidence within 48 hours. - ➤ On Monday evening, the City Council met and heard Natural Gas Director Matthew Hobbs say the department is fully staffed (14 employees) and enters 2025 with a solid budget even as customer growth remains flat and a natural gas rate study has begun. - ➤ Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman and a coalition of 51 state attorneys general sent warning letters to nine voice service providers for routing illegal robocalls and spoofing caller IDs, actions that may violate state and federal laws. The task force alerted the Federal Communications Commission and detailed its investigation (including concerns under the Truth in Caller ID Act) while noting that Kentuckians received 58 million robocalls in March (a figure they cited as evidence of predatory practices).
