ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews rescued about 75 people from flooded homes in Hardin County as responders from Elizabethtown, Radcliff, Fort Knox, and nearby areas joined FEMA to help families in Colesburg, Upton, Sonora, White Mills, Glendale, and West Point—residents are urged to avoid dangerous standing water.  WLKY

CRIME NEWS

  • Hardin County Sheriff’s Department’s Victims Advocate Anna Dahl announced an event for crime victims on April 11 from 11 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 113 in Elizabethtown.  Quicksie 98.3

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Kentucky lawmakers approved measures to gradually lower the income tax on wages by reducing it from 4% to 3.5% starting in 2026 if revenue targets are met—Mississippi’s new law will cut its income tax from 4% to 3% by 2030 with a plan to eliminate it by 2040 if conditions hold. This move comes as states adjust tax policies amid changing economic conditions.  K105

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Flooding remains severe across local counties after heavy rain last week left many roads, homes and businesses under water, and over 500 road closures remain with two deaths reported including a 74-year-old trapped on Nelsonville Road. Emergency crews are using high volume pumps to clear water from interstates while local officials manage water levels and community groups (including LTADD efforts) support first responders as a Freeze Watch stays in effect overnight with temperatures near the 20s.  Quicksie 98.3
  • Residents in Hardin County face high water and road closures after heavy rain — which has caused widespread flooding in most areas — as many residents struggle with disrupted travel routes.  The News-Enterprise

  • Rivers and creeks across Kentucky have continued to rise after the rain stopped. Gov. Andy Beshear held a news conference Monday at 10 a.m. and said a child died in Frankfort, a woman died in Nelson County, & one person is missing from McCracken County.  WLKY
