- ➤ BBB serving Greater Kentucky and South Central Indiana warned that after severe storms and tornadoes, out-of-town contractors and scam callers may try to take advantage of residents — urging everyone to confirm licensing and payment terms before agreeing to any work. K105
- ➤ Defense lawyers and prosecutors had a tense exchange at a hearing Thursday about hair DNA testing in the Crystal Rogers case—debating if two hairs found in the victim's car should be tested because the defense said they did not match the suspects. WLKY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State education officials said the Kentucky Student Success Collaborative launched a year-long effort to have select colleges and universities award academic credit for work, military, or life experiences. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Radcliff Deputy Fire Marshal Tommy Crane said today that grills must be cleaned and kept at least 10 feet away from buildings — a rule meant to prevent flare-ups — and that fire pits should be placed 15 feet from patios. He added that outdoor burning must follow state rules banning burns within 150 feet of woodland from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 30 — allowing only branches and brush to be burned. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ Kentuckians who purchased certain generic drugs between 2010 and 2018 may be eligible for compensation after a $39.1 million settlement proposal with drug makers Apotex & Heritage Pharmaceuticals.
