- ➤ United Way of Central Kentucky is inviting project proposals for its annual Day of Action campaign that will see volunteer teams support community projects from June 16 through 20. Schools, churches, and organizations in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, and Meade counties must include key details such as a project description, volunteer count, and estimated completion time—selected applicants will receive a designated volunteer team leader. - ➤ The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office will host a Community Resource Fair at American Legion Post 113 in Elizabethtown on Friday, April 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.—more than 25 community resource providers and speakers, including Homeland Security Victim Assistance Specialist Annisha Dunaway, will help victims of crime during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ 15-year-olds in Kentucky can now schedule an appointment for a driver's permit starting today after Gov. Andy Beshear signed House Bill 15 last week. They must still complete 60 hours of practice driving (including ten hours at night) and wait until age 16 for an intermediate license. WLKY
