- ➤ Hazel Morris of Chavies won a $281,651 jackpot on March 15 when she played the Elephant King Instant Play game and received $202,789 after taxes when she claimed her prize in Louisville. She celebrated her win by picking up donuts for family and said the funds will help cover bills and prepare for retirement—her husband Dale noted she has always been generous in the community. WLKY
- ➤ A ceremony in Elizabethtown honored Vietnam War veterans (once treated unfairly but now respected for their courage) as the community remembered their service. - ➤ Two Central Hardin juniors died in an early Saturday morning single-vehicle crash on St. John Road near Elizabethtown—during the first day of spring break for local schools. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ Two Central Hardin High School students died in a crash on St. John Road at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday—17-year-old Gerald Lyon lost control resulting in his death at the hospital while 16-year-old Tristen Shrouder was ejected and died at the scene—and Hardin County Schools will open its media center today from 10 a.m. to noon for anyone seeking support.
