ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Grayson County man, 42-year-old Charles Edward 'Eddie' Cann, died in a two-vehicle crash on the 4800 block of Grayson Springs Road in Clarkson Monday at about 3:15 p.m.—first responders including the Sheriff’s Office, Clarkson Fire Department, and EMS arrived before Kentucky State Police and the Coroner’s Office joined the response, and the road reopened after traffic control ended shortly after 8:00 p.m. K105
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed House Bill 398 on Monday night because it would remove state worker safety rules—leaving only basic federal standards. Lawmakers may try to override his veto during the last days of the session. WKYU-FM
- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear signed 17 bills into law, vetoed 4 and returned 3 without a signature on Monday. He said the measures + including property removal, worker protection and public safety programs + will protect Kentucky families and support economic growth. K105
- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear signed House Bill 15 Tuesday to lower the age for a driver's permit from 16 to 15 and the law goes into effect immediately. The change is meant to offer families an extra driving option—helping them manage busy schedules. WLKY
- ➤ On Monday evening, the Elizabethtown City Council held a special meeting and work session where members approved a resolution to support the police department’s application for a grant to buy new tasers—Police Chief Jeremy Thompson said the funds come from a Homeland Security program that does not yet offer matching funds. During the session, City Wastewater Management Director Corey Bond discussed updates to the sewer use ordinance and a proposed $250,000 grease trap program, and the council will meet again on April 7.
