- ➤ Staff Sgt. Benjamin Pennington, the first Kentuckian killed in the Iran war, will arrive Friday afternoon at Fort Knox to begin a local funeral service that includes a motorcade to Trowbridge Funeral Home + visitation begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Central Hardin High School. WKYU-FM
- ➤ North Hardin Lions launched a youth empowerment initiative to help local youth learn about juvenile justice, character building, and social-emotional skills. The program will soon offer classes and support in Elizabethtown. The News-Enterprise
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Hardin County Public Library is displaying artworks inspired by a book, created by young readers in its program room. The exhibition offers a creative space for community members to appreciate local talent. The News-Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lawmakers overrode Gov. Beshear’s veto on Tuesday, letting Kentucky students use up to $1,700 in federal tax credits for donations to scholarship organizations for both public & private schools. The bill, now under the secretary of state's authority, passed with strong support in both chambers. K105

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Kentucky Blood Center will host a blood drive at Baptist Health Hardin auditorium from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3 to boost the local supply for treatments; donors must be at least 17 (or 16 with parental consent) and weigh 110 pounds, and will receive a t-shirt. Quicksie 98.3
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Melvin, a 5-year-old tri-colored Beagle, and Kip, an 11-month-old tan and white Husky-Shepherd are looking for forever homes at the Hardin County Animal Shelter located at 220 Peterson Drive where visitors are welcome Monday to Saturday.
