🎭 Culture
Charles Castner, a longtime railroad employee who co-wrote a book on the powerful Big Emma steam locomotive, died last month at 97.
His work preserves eastern Kentucky’s rich rail heritage + recalls a bygone era of everyday train travel.
🎓 Education
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will hold its Spring 2026 Transfer Fair on March 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the James S.
Owen Building on campus. About 30 universities will join to help students start their path to a four-year degree.
The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels donated $100,000 to the KCTCS Foundation to help student-parents through the Better Life Scholarship, which covers tuition & expenses.
Their long-term support has already aided over 500 students and will ease financial barriers for future student-parents.
