  • Local vehicle owners in Elizabethtown and Radcliff are urged by the Hardin County Clerk’s Office to buy the new Kentucky Spay or Neuter specialty plate during Spay/Neuter Awareness Month. The playful design by artist Hayli Strickland helps fund spay/neuter grants when you register + renew your vehicle.  Quicksie 98.3
  • The Central Kentucky Community Action Council invites residents in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties to provide input for its 2026 Community Needs Assessment available online until Feb. 27 — the survey helps guide services for local families.  Quicksie 98.3

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Ford Energy will repurpose the closed Glendale EV battery plant to produce energy storage batteries starting late 2027. Community leaders and local investors continue infrastructure upgrades (including a workforce training center) while former BlueOval SK workers adjust as the project shifts amid evolving economic hopes.  WKYU-FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After more than two weeks of daily work, Hardin County Road Department spot scraped roads on Monday (Feb. 9), leading to emerging potholes along key routes. Crews continue their efforts as winter weather challenges road conditions.  The News-Enterprise
  • Kentucky Treasurer's Office encourages residents to search the unclaimed property database (Feb. 1) to recover funds from forgotten bank accounts, checks, and insurance proceeds. The office has returned $86 million since 2024 and holds nearly $800 million in assets.  Quicksie 98.3

HEALTH NEWS

  • An Elizabethtown priest has shaved his head for 20 years for St. Baldrick’s to support childhood cancer research. The tradition comes as research shows a child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes + stressing the need for ongoing support.  The News-Enterprise
  • Heartland Medical Cannabis Health & Wellness will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 at 240 W. Dixie Avenue, Suite 4 to mark its expansion and relocation.  The News-Enterprise
