EDUCATION NEWS

➤ Kentucky Transportation Cabinet invites current and upcoming college students to apply for 25 scholarships in civil engineering, engineering technology, and construction management. Applicants must submit by Feb. 1 to be considered for a paid summer job + guaranteed KYTC employment upon graduation for the 2026-2027 academic year. Quicksie 98.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ A state of emergency has been declared as a winter storm brings up to 12 inches of snow and icy conditions today. Kentucky Emergency Management — with support from the National Guard — is preparing warming centers, pre-positioning water and services to help ease travel and potential power outages. K105

HEALTH NEWS

➤ The Kentucky Blood Center will host a blood drive at Baptist Health Hardin auditorium from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 to help boost a low blood supply during winter (donors will receive a special Team Donor long-sleeve shirt). Quicksie 98.3
