- ➤ Hardin County Animal Shelter (220 Peterson Drive) is showcasing two adoptable dogs this week: Charlotte, a 2-year-old Hound mix, and Buddy George, a 4-year-old Shepherd mix. The shelter is open Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm and interested adopters can call 270-769-3428. Quicksie 98.3

- ➤ LG&E & KU have launched an improved electricity outage map that automatically sends text and phone alerts when service is interrupted, starting this week. Customers can update their contact info to receive real-time restoration estimates ahead of the predicted winter storm. K105
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City councilors approved a $10M land deal on Tuesday to expand the runway at Elizabethtown Regional Airport + officials said the move sets the stage for future upgrades. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ The Kentucky Department of Revenue will start accepting state tax returns Monday, Jan. 26 along with federal filings, with processing beginning Feb. 2 and a deadline of April 15. Eligible taxpayers can receive free help at volunteer sites and the KY File+ no-cost option. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ At Tuesday's meeting, Radcliff City Council approved $13,752 in repairs for Saunders Springs cabins and set aside the Stovall cabin for future restoration. They also approved the Pink Dot Project to start distributing period products at Gathering Bakery (with a bin at Colvin Community Center) by month-end. Quicksie 98.3
